Workshop: Heat and Health

The increase in extreme sunmmer temperatures also has implications for human health. The people most affected are those with a weaker health constitution, such as the elderly, the chronically ill and those in need of care, but also small children. The workshop, which is part of the EU project LIFE LOCAL ADAPT, is aimed at health care and nursing institutions, local authorities and other public institutions that focus on the health of the population with regard to the consequences of climate change. The focus is on experiences from the practice of a care facility and from a scientific point of view the prevention of heat-related health damages/deaths. The workshop will start with an overview of the effects of climate change in Saxony, also from a biometeorological point of view, and will also highlight the challenges of climate change for urban planning and urban development.

The workshop is held in German.
